Since the passage of Prop 64 cities in California have dealt with the fiscal impacts and benefits of allowing cannabis business in their community. This presentation will discuss how cannabis trends have evolved and changed the landscape of local municipalities. Furthermore, we will discuss the lessons learned from the implementation from the collection of taxes, cash handling, the challenges of tax apportionment, the impacts of delivery services on retail store revenues, Mergers & Acquisitions and the red flags of projecting revenues from cannabis operations in the budget process. Finally, we will examine how the “Impacts of Hemp” will reshape the economic development of cannabis businesses in California.
